Afternnon Everyone BRILLIANT NEWS FRank :-D :-D :-D. She is going to be very happy to be back hoem so soon. I know that you will be over the moon too now :-D
Mel I found a Daddy Longlegs too this morning in the kitchen :-S. I suppose now there has been one there will be loads more appearing. Still loads of spdiers webs around although not so many spiders. I much prefer the Daddy Longlegs :-D. They are easy to catch in your hands and then pop them out the window.
I went to pick up Fitz this morning from the garage where he had taken his car for a service and new cam belt. He was stood there with 2 walking sticks and could hardly even hobble !!. He thinks he did something at the weekend when he was lumping around railway sleepers . Silly Billy. I dropped him home and was going to lie down and watch a load of TV on catch up. Then this afternoon I drove over to the other side of town through all the rotten roadworks to pick up my prescription from the surgery only to be told it hadnt been done !!. It should have been ready by Saturday !!. So that is a trip again for tomorrow. I had planned not to go out tomorrow too :-S
It has been just like a Summers day here. Sooo hot.The fans are out again !. Last night I was so hot in bed I had to put the fan on about 4am. I wish I had done it earlier as once I had cooled off I went right back to sleep. It will just be a sheet on top tonight rather than the duvet. Chris has just gone up for a bath!!!! So he must be feeling stiff after a day in the garden.Everything is just so bone dry .The hose pipe has been out and everything has had a good watering. I made a Chicken Pie so that is ready to just pop in the oven now.It is the one I do with Filo Pastry on the top.
Got to go Janice is on the phone and she has been to the Drs.

Evening all,
That's really good news Frank ,she will be glad to be home and you will be pleased too have her home ,i hope they don't hang her about waiting for her medication they always seem so long winded sorting them out .
Oh i hate hose Daddy Long Legs Jane i've noticed them outside in the morning usually clinging to the brickwork ,i think they come in when you open any door or windows at night as they come in to the light i'm afraid they get a swipe with the fly swat if i see one . Hope your sister is coming along nicely after her knee op and she hasn't had to much pain .
I have washed more curtains today got them all dry and back up :-D i'm on a roll now i even washed the shower curtain in the wet room . We have decided not to decorate the lounge now until the spring Colin has lots of jobs he wants to do outside before the weather turns , the walls are ok really it just needs freshening up round the woodburner so just a small job to do that .
What a lovely warm day it's been ,we sat out and had coffee this morning and a cuppa this afternoon ,i think it's going to be warm in bed tonight ,we have put the fan away but we might need to get it out again at this rate .

Evening all
It's been nice and sunny here today but has gone overcast now.
Pleased to hear Ros can come home today Frank. Maybe you'll sleep better tonight now you're not so worried. You've had lots of offers of help so you have lots of support around you.
We've had lots of daddy long legs here, I pick them up and put them outside. Sandra is frightened of them and is always calling me to different rooms to get them out.. I've also noticed them on the outside of the windows to, so I have to careful they don't fly in when I open the windows and doors.
So you're getting there with your curtains Mandy at least you had the nice weather today to get them dried. Spring sounds a better time to paint, it'll look lovely when it's done.
Maybe you could ring before you go for your meds tomorrow Jane, it would save you a trip if they're not there. How is Janice after her op?
I spent a few days putting a new patio down to put a shed on. We decided to buy the one off my mum's neighbour in the end. So off we toddled to her place today to take a look at it and realised we'd been given the wrong measurements so we couldn't have it in the end. OH thinks it was specially made for her to put her scooter in as the door was almost 3 foot wide. The roof sloped from one side to the other and not from front to back like we were told, if we turned it around so the rain water went towards the fence and not towards the greenhouse, there wasn't enough room to open the door. I was so achy yesterday after laying all the flags, which now seem to have been a waste of time and money. I was so annoyed with myself for not looking at the shed before starting the flags. A lesson learn there for me I think. We're not sure what we're going to do with the space now. My neighbour said I'll probably fill it with more plants LOL......she's probably right :-)

My Sister has had a few bad days and 2 trips to the Dr. It seems she has had possible withdrawal symptoms from Codeine .She was on a lot and had no further presciption from the private hospital so basically gone cold turkey :-S Her GP has put her back on it and says she will need it for another few weeks to cope with her knee pain. As he sais she has had a major operation and will need strong painkillers for a while yet.She has been trying to cope with just Paracetamol and Ibuprofen. It hasn't been enough.
Mandy I keep looking at my curtains now :-S A good hoover will have to do :-D I dread to think of the number of cobwebs that will be clinging to the back of them !!!!!! Dishing up dinner now.
I hope Ros is home now Frank :-D :-D <3

Sorry to hear about your sister Jane, my thoughts are with her and of course you, as you must be so worried about her. At least she's back on the tablets now so hopefully will start feeling better soon. The doctor is right, she's going to need those pain killers for some time yet and then I should imagine he'd take her off them gradually.
Hope Ros and Frank have a good nights sleep tonight, my thoughts are with you both too.
Off to bed now, see you all tomorrow. Night Night

Morning all
Bright and sunny here but the wind is terrible.
How is Ros today Frank? I hope you both had a good nights sleep. Are you still going to Devon or have you changed your mind with Ros being the way she is?
How is your sister today Jane? Now she's back on the right pain killers hopefully she'll be in less pain.
Nothing much planned for today, so I think Sandra and I will catch up with some programmes I've recorded, we are falling behind on a few things and I don't want to run out of space on the planner. OH has gone to his mates for the day. I might change the beds to, but with the wind the way it is I'll probably have to dry it all in the dryer, it'll blow away on the line.

Morning Gill and all,
Cloudy skies here again but a tiny slither of blue here and there and not so windy as it was last night. They forcast us 40 mile and hour winds and it was really blowoing a hooley out there last night when I wnet to bed. The doors were rattling and I had them all shut. It must somehow come down the chimney in the lounge even though it is blocked up or capped off whatever. The draft was coming under the lounge door and when I shut the kitchen door it was blasting under it as there is a big gap under that door.
Oh said to me yesterday take a look at the grass as it will be covered in leves by the morning and he was'nt wrong but its not as bad as I thought it was going to be.
Love to Ros this morning Frank please pass on my wishes. How did you both sleep last night?

Good morning dear friends, xx Thanks so much for your concern regarding Ros.
We got home around 6,30 pm She got into her nightdress and dressing gown and relaxed on the sofa. About 8.00 she fancied Baked beans on toast with a couple of rashers. Which I got for her. While getting the beans out I saw a tin of PILCHARDS, that took my fancy, so I had those on toast.
She had a good nights sleep. She was going to have a lie in but had a funny turn, so got up.
I have been busy, hoovering through, making the bed, getting dinner ready . I have given Ros her cereal and COT. She has sorted out all the medication, given to her by the hospital.
I can see my biggest job, is going to be STOPPING HER DOING TOO MUCH. She can't drive for at least one week, and only then if she feels comfortable.
I'm not sure if I mentioned I have done a big Tesco order on line. that will be delivered tomorrow between 12.00/1.00 pm. As I find things I need I will make a list and get another order delivered next week.
This wind has blown over pots on the patio, they can stay there for now.
I trust Janice is coping with this medication. Can't be nice feeling like that.
Valerie next door has had a very bad turn by what Tony says. Instead of calling 999 he is taking her to the doctors at 11.30. U can see the Dr ringing for an Ambulance as Hospital will be the place for her.
Onwards and upwards as they say. See you later.

Very busy so far today I see Frank, you are good looking after Ros and the bungalow, but don't forget to look after yourself too. Sorry to hear about the funny turn Ros had in the night and hope she is feeling a bit better now. Yes, she will have to take it easy this time and not over do things, like Mel said it has been a nasty warning and she should listen to her body and give it time to recover properly before going out and about.
You're not the only one with pot plants blowing over I've just had to move two of mine into a more sheltered spot. It's forecast for 60 mile an hour winds here, my conifers are really swaying in it. I hope my greenhouse will be okay.
Fancy Tony taking Valerie to the doctors and not calling 999, like you said the doctor will probably phone an ambulance for her. Hope it's not to serious and she is feeling better soon.
Did you enjoy your Pilchards? Nice to see you eating something after not having much of an appetite lately.
So you have a drafty bungalow then Mel? Maybe you could make some draft excluders to put up against the doors at night, it'll stop them rattling. It's that time of year for leaves falling off the trees, I've noticed a few in our garden so I doubt it'll be long before the lawn is covered with them again. I've only just taken all the leaves out of the borders in the back garden too.
Going to get some lunch then watch a bit of TV with Sandra, we haven't got around to it yet. I've been looking online for something to go in the flagged space I made and think I might be able to buy a small summerhouse. I'm hoping I might find a nice one cheap, if there are any sales on soon, I think they'll cost a lot more if we wait to buy one next summer.

I have draft excluders Gill but we keep falling over them!!!!!!!!!! We have double glazing all round and we did the loft last year if you remember with all that thick stuff and boards and you have to leave a breathing space around the edge.
Off shopping now sop see you all later.

FIRST FALL OUT ALREADY. She wants to do something that I said NO to. lol lol
Have got her a mushroom soup for lunch, which she said was cold. I reheated it, and said DON'T BURN YOURSELF when I gave it to her. That didn't go down well either.
I have spent two hours getting quotes for Home and Contents Insurance. So that has stressed me out. But I managed to save £28,00. so was worth it.
Tony has very kindly been to Tesco's to get odds and ends for us.
There is no let up to this wind, if anything it's getting stronger.
You are like me Mel, I can trip over a matchstick, and forever tripping over the mats.
Roast loin of pork for tonight.
Tomorrow evening, Harvey, Julia and Lewis are coming up for Ros's birthday. I will order a Chinese, which will be easier than cooking.

Glad things have improved for your patient Frank! I'm afraid it will require a bit of R&R, but I think recovery is fairly speedy! Hope your sister is feeling better today Jane. These knee ops are very painful by all accounts and take a while to get over. Very windy here so OH and I have picked all the apples today else they'll be lost!. OH is busy peeling a load of cookers ready to stew and freeze, while I'm sorting the eaters. Another good job done! Our first house on Exmoor was very draughty and difficult to keep warm! Where we are now is completely draught free with some of the windows designed to let in a minimum of air if necessary. It's useful as the Cabin can get too hot and stuffy in the winter even on a cold day! We're waiting for the garage to ring to tell us that the car is ready after a service and its first MOT!! The chap will pick OH up and take him over to collect it!

Afternoon All
Our big Olive tree pot blow over in the night .It must have been one hige gust to get that one over ! I reckon there will be more tonight if the wind is going ot be goetting stronger. It is really dark now and has just started spitting.
Well that didnt take long to have words then Frank :-D :-D.Hopefully it didnt get too heated :-D. I think you might have ot bite your tongue a few times as I am sure Ros is not going to be happy just sitting doing nothing.I am sure she will be fine just as long as she doesn't over do things.
Draught Excluders!!!. We have just the one at the garage door that opens onto the side of the kitchen. I always trip over that everytime I go in and come out of the garage.Really we dont need it there until the winter or if it is cold and windy but we have just left it there. I have come a cropper many a time when I dont lift my foot high enough to step over it.
I went to pick Fitz up this morning to take him back to the garage to collect his car . But he was in a right state with his walking and in such pain I said I thought he was out of his mind even contemplating trying to drive. So I made him go back indoors and said just to ring the garage and ask them to hang on to the car for another day. Also to ring the Dr for a phone appointment .You have to ring before 12 to get on the phone calls list and it was 11.45 by then so I hope he managed to get through in time. He may ring later to let me know what is happening. His 2 walking sticks were at different heights too which I am sure isnt the right thing so I did suggest lowering one to match the other.(I had my bossy head on this morning) :-D. But sometimes he does lack a bit of Common Sense :-S I picked my tablets up ,got some diesel and came home.
Gill I thought you had said the shed you were going to have was not the right size other week .Could you not buy another that will fit on your newly layed slabs? Or maybe have a bench ? It is ready meals for us 2 tonight. James is straight out after work to meet with Johnny's Mum and friends as it would have been Johnny's 33rd birthday today. So sad he is not here :-( Frank is it Ros's Birthday tomorrow ? At least she is now out of hospital and home to be able to enjoy it with the family :-D I haven't heard from Janice today yet but am hoping now she is back on the Codeine that those horrible symptons she was having are gradually going or even gone. Larry's daughter had her first lot of Chemo yesterday by infusion . She now takes a tablet for 14 days then another infusion ,14 tablets ,infusion etc for the 3 months.
Tomorrow we are off the the Cinema and lunch in Northampton to see Children Act. It is ages since we have been to a film. Then Chris is going to see another film on Thursday afternoon I think it is called the Guardians. Not my kind of thing . Hannah will be home then so at least I shall be here when she arrives. She is driving Gareths car so no need for me to pick her up at the station.(thats a first). Phone ringing .Might be Fitz.

Done the weekly trudge and its all put away. Ready meal for oh tonight , a curry and I have chicken thighs with salad so I have only to do the salad.
My beans blew over in the wind but they are so heavy I could'nt pick them up. Oh said he would do it tomorrow if the wind has dropped. My plastic tomato house blew over and I pick that up but by the time I came home from shopping it was over again. I picked all the rest of the toms off and popped the whole thing in my shed. I think some of it is broken but its been good for a few years now. I used to put it up in the poly tunnel when I had that.
Ros must be feeling better if she is wanting to do things but she must be a good girl and rest for a while. I think I am right in saying that the stents have to sort of bed themselves in but Jane would know more about that.
Yes is it tomoorrow Ros's birthday please Frank? <3

Have you thought of buying some draft excluders you screw to the bottom of the doors Mel, that way you won't trip over them, they can also stay on all year round. They're very easy to put on, sometimes they can be a bit long and drag on the floor but a good pair of scissors sorts that problem out.
How is Fitz now Jane? Hope he managed to speak to the doctor. I think you're right, having his walking sticks at different heights can't be good. I see you got your meds today, one less thing to worry about. I hope the weather isn't to bad tomorrow when you go to the cinema and lunch.
We did think the shed wouldn't fit but then made some extra space, unfortunately the roof slopped the wrong way, we were told it went from the front to the back but it went side to side which meant we would of had to turn the shed around, in doing this there wouldn't of been enough room to open the door. A seating area is an idea, which we had thought about. The way the weather is at the moment we can't do anything, so we've got a bit of time to mull a few ideas over and choose the right one for us. Hope all is okay with Janice and the chemo goes well for Larry's daughter.
How are you and Ros now Frank, I hope you haven't had another falling out? I know how much Ros likes to do things but you're right she needs to rest right now. I hope she listens to you. Maybe you could explain how worried you are about her and that you'd like her to take it easy for a bit, I'm sure she'll understand where you're coming from and might slow down, even if it's only for a day or two. I hope things improve for you both. It can't be easy for such an active woman to do nothing for a while. Is there anything she is allowed to do, what have the doctors said, maybe she could do those that way she won't be sitting around doing nothing which must be driving her mad. It's a difficult situation, I hope you can find some common ground where both of you are happy.

So not too bad a day all in all!:-) Good for you Frank for shopping on line! I really must give it a go, a dummy run in case we need it for real one day!! The various vans go up and down to the farm down the road, so at least they DO come out as far as us!!!!
