Gosh is it that soon now!!!!!!!!! That means Christmas is nearly on us once again.
It is blowing a gale here and raining with it really hard.
I have been all day on the family tree and have got somewhere. I have second cousins that married which has sent the tree a bit wild as you don't get both their parents once they are married.
Signing out now so night night.

How exciting all the planning for Hannah's wedding Jane. Thanks for letting me know the day.
Good news sorting out your tree Mel, I gave up on mine in the end. I don't think I'm ever going to find the answers. I've had a similar situation to you only I had two brother's marrying two sisters so trying to fit in the parents was a bit of a nightmare. I had to put them in twice in the end, then add why in the notes for each person.
Off to bed now. See you all tomorrow Night Night

Morning all,
I awoke to sunshine this morning and was watching the rainbows around the room from the crystal hanging in the window when suddenly it came over darker and we had a heavy hail shower. Now the suns out again and all in 20 mins. Its still a bit windy as the white clouds are passing over quite quickly now.
Gosh its Friday again and I don't know where this week has gone.

Good morning Gill, Mel and all,
Sill very windy here but mainly clear blue sky.
Ros had another good night with the exception of indigestion, which she has had since coming home from hospital (NO NOT MY COOKING) ;-) ;-) ;-) She has put a call in for the Dr to ring her, to see if they can give her something.
So Hannah gets married just a week before my 80h birthday, Jane. I won't forget that date.
The stew was an absolute disaster. The beef was totally inedibly, I could have put new soles on my shoes with it. I have strained a small saucepan of the vegetables and gravy for Ros to have at lunchtime, the rest went down the toilet. Saucepan all washed, and ready to go back in the cupboard under the cooker. So much for TWO days meals. I will now have to get something out for tonight.
Nothing happening here today, just looking after my patient, and doing a bit of housework. There is a bit of ironing, but that can wait, we don't need any of it right now.
Val (Sid's wife) had a slight accident in her car on Wednesday. It's an 03 plate Renault.. he estimate for repair is £700/800. I told her not to bother as the car isn't worth that much. So I expect I will have the job of finding her another car. This time she wants an automatic. I get all the GOOD JOBS. lol lol.
See you all later.

Well that should keep you out of mischief Frank, looking after Ros and finding a car for Val.
It very windy here still and we have had another short sharp shower and a rainbow out the front coming and going as the rain came down and I stood and watched it till it stopped raining again.
Frank I always buy Skirt steak for a stew and it always seems ok.

Morning all
We have the same weather as you Mel, it started off lovely and sunny then we had a massive downpour of rain just as we were getting something out of the shed. Talk about bad timing.
I hope Ros can get something off the doctor to help her Frank, at least she's resting which is good. What a shame about your stew, that happened to me once so I put it in the over for a couple of hours and the meat was lovely and tender and much better than making it in a pan on top of the cooker. So you have a new car to find for Val, I hope she's okay after her accident.
OH is sorting out the bathroom ceiling today, the paint is flaking so he's going to scrape it all back, sand it and re-paint it. I'm just helping him take everything out of there, including the toilet roll so we must remember to take it back in when we need the loo.
Next door's side gate broke last night, the cross bar at the top blew off and landed down the side of her bungalow, I'm glad it didn't blow the other way or it would of hit our car. OH used a bag of sand she had laying around to wedge the gate open as it wouldn't close. I might give her a ring later to let her know what's happened. I think the gate needs to be taken down completely. She was going to have a new one made when we had ours done but the builder never got back to her, then the bungalow sold so it never got done.
My garden is still in one piece after the terrible weather last night, the storm was really bad, but thankfully nothing of ours got broke. I hope everything is okay for everyone else.

All ok here in the garden but what its like outside the wall I don't know as I don't go out there much.
Oh was going to do some mowing but when he went out it started raining again so he's gone back in the study to his Warcraft game.

Ros and some of the village women are making POPPIES from red wool with a black button for the centre. They are going to string them down the high street for Rememberance day.
I ordered (as a gift) 100 black 20 mm buttons. in packs of 10 buttons. They turned up this morning ONE PACKET with 10 buttons COST £17,00. Needles to say, I am not a happy bunny. I have sent them back with a right snotty letter, and claiming my refund. I have found another supplier, and I can get 160 buttons for £11.50. So a better deal all round.
We now have the rain, so a wet afternoon is in store for us. Where has this INDIAN SUMMER GONE ??
Val has been round this morning, with a nice bouquet and a card signed by the CHOIR. We have run out of VASES, so have had to poke flowers, into the other vases. Ros also had a package from Lara in Cornwall, with a get well card and a little present.
Still waiting for the Dr. to ring.

Afternoon all,
Still quite breezy here but i don't think it was to bad in the early hours as they said it might be ,i have just noticed a few spots of rain on the window we were going out to get the runner beans down but they might have to wait now.
How's the cold today Jane ? i hope your feeling a little better . So it's all wedding talk this weekend ,those weeks will soon go ,have you decided on an outfit yet ?
Oh Frank they were expensive buttons :-0 glad you managed to find some at a better price , we have a group of ladies in the town who knitted Poppies last year ,they were put on long stakes and put round the war Memorial one poppy for each name on the Memorial it looked lovely.
That was good you didn't have any damage in the garden Gill and lucky the piece of next doors gate blew the other way and not onto your car .
Mel any sign of the hogs yet ?

That was expensive for buttons Frank did you look on Amazon? if you go through them all you should find some cheaper.
The knitted poppies sound a great idea Frank and we would love to see a photo if you can get someone to take one when they are up.
Mandy no still no hogs. Do you remember me saying I saw a weazle in the garden and oh said it was a baby stoat? well I am wondering if a stoat would take hogs as I know they take full size rabbits. Oh said he did'nt think a stoat would take a prickly hog but I don't know.......... It must be over a week now since I have seen one.
I expect having Hannah there has helped Jane with the cold as they will be nattering away and it will take her mind off it. I do wish her better soon though. x

That was really expensive for those buttons Frank, although you now have a better deal. Does Ros know you've ordered them or is it going to be a surprise for her? Making the poppies will keep her busy and she'll have some rest with sitting down, it's a lovely idea I'd love to see a photo if you can take one. It sounds like Ros has had lots of flowers if you're running out of vases. I bet it looks lovely in your bungalow. Has Ros heard from the doctor yet?
Pleased to hear you're garden didn't have any damage Mel, maybe those high walls have their uses after all ;-) Hope there wasn't any damage behind them though.
Yes, we were very lucky the wood didn't hit the car Mandy, her bin was overflowing so OH had to take one of the bags out last night as her lid was banging, he put it in between her two bins, but when he noticed the gate broke this morning he put the spare bag down the side of her bungalow. I don't know what she's going to make of OH moving things around, but you just don't know where everything is going to blow to, so making it all as secure as he can is better than leaving it to cause damage. I've just been to the greenhouse and the roof sounded like it was going to blow off.......needless to say I got out of there pretty sharpish ;-) ;-) Pleased to hear your garden didn't have any damage.
How are you feeling today Jane, hope you had a good nights sleep? How are the wedding plans going, did Hannah decide on a hair style? It's so exciting isn't it and not far off now either. Good idea to wear the shoes in before her special day, there's nothing worse than blisters and sore feet.

That was kind of Mel to source the buttons for you Frank <3
Just had a mad dash outside with OH, the largest plant we have, almost 10 foot tall Red Robin, blew over onto some other plants in front of it. Luckily the plants in the front weren't damaged and we've put the larger plant back and put a rock in front of the pot. OH has given it plenty of water to try to make it heavier. The weather is terrible today. Hopefully the plant won't blow over again. I'll just have to keep an eye on it.
I hope everyone else's gardens are okay. The screening is doing okay though, that's still up........hope I haven't jinxed it now :-| :-|

Still blustery and now it's just started to rain again, that was quite a big plant to go over Gill i hope it didn't get damaged .

No Mandy, I don't think the plant got damaged, mind you it was that windy my hair was blowing over the top of my head and down my face so I couldn't see much. I'll check it properly when it's less windy.
So Max was having fun with your stalks, he was good bringing them back to you when asked. That's one job out of the way now. It sounds like you got the job done before it started to rain so that's good.
I've spent most of the day watching Vanity Fair, I'd recorded them from the beginning and had about 4 of them to watch, it's very good, Is anyone else watching it?
No Jane today, I hope she's okay and her cold hasn't got worse.

I'm here . Feeling totally rubbish. The lurgy has turned into a right stinker of a cold and chesty cough. I have tissues stuffed up my nose while typing :-S It's like a dripping tap .I cancelled an appointment this morning as there was no way I could go. Hopefully tomorrow morning I will feel better as it is the wedding dress fitting. Then Cheese tasting at lunch time(cheeses chosen for the Cheese Tower) I can't taste anything at the moment :-S :-S
Just spoke to my Sister and she thinks she might have to go back and have surgery on her Knee again :-(. The Physio is not at all happy with her recovery. I feel so sorry for her as she is doing all the right things exercise wise but no improvement .
I am going now ,but wil be back tomorrow afternoon /evening

Oh Jane, I'm so sorry to hear about your sister, the poor woman, I hope things improve for her soon. Sorry to hear about your cold to, it sounds pretty bad. I hope you have a decent nights sleep and feel up to going out tomorrow. That's the worse thing not being able to taste anything, hopefully you'll be able to taste the cheese as some of them can be quite strong can't they? What type of dress has Hannah chosen or is it a secret? I can't wait to see a photo of her.

Made Sheep Sh*t pie for tonight and an extra small one for me when oh has his curry on Tuesday. Saved someof the nice tasty gravy too. Its going in the freezer soon.
Still no hogs.................................
