Frank Report 23 Sep 2018 13:54

Just done another on line order for Monday evening delivery. Have got everything correct this time. lol lol

Just put meat in the oven, so earlier dinner than usual. But neither of us had breakfast.

Ros has an upset tummy this morning. I'm thinking it might be all the different meds. she is now taking. She is at the nurse tomorrow for bloods to be taken. She will soon look like a PIN CUSHION ;-) ;-)

That's brilliant Mel not having to pay out for certificates and also to find a living relative not far from you. It goes to show how names can be mis-spelt though, your relative probably got the name Antrobus off a census, as there were lots of mis-spelt names on there. I wonder where she got all the silly names attached to you from, have you asked her? I try and check information off other's trees as mistakes are often made. I'm so pleased you have found some information even if it's not all right and to find someone with a photo is precious. Keep going you never know what else you might find. I'll keep my fingers crossed for more good luck for you. <3

Your OH has been busy lately Liz, what with his jam and now gooseberry chutney, you'll be well stocked up for the winter now. We've still got sunshine and showers so no outside work for me today as the rain is quite heavy when it's here.

Pleased to hear you and Ros are okay, don't over do things though Frank.

I started with ear ache last night and it's really playing me up today.....not a nice feeling, hope I'm not coming down with something :-( I've got a headache too.

Sandra and I are enjoying "The Circle" I'm pleased I didn't delete it now as we weren't sure whether to watch it or not.......now we're hooked ;-)
Just going to watch the last one now.

We've got a sound bar too.

Sun came out this morning and its still out now. We also have a bit of a stiff breeze.

Had the big breakfast and this afternoon I am making sausage rolls for tea.

Gillx

Gillx Report 23 Sep 2018 15:11

Didn't see your post there Frank, sorry to hear Ros is unwell, hope she feels better soon.

I have some sausage rolls in my freezer Mel, I'm running the freezer down as we need a new one so I'll probably cook them once I start to feel a bit better.

Better go Sandra is waiting. OH is still scraping the paint off the bathroom ceiling, he seems to be getting there slowly.

Evening All
Another day of coughing and now it looks like it is Chris's turn to get the cold :-S. I can hear James still barking upstairs .It's like a Sanitorium here. Hannah and Gareth left this morning and are heading to St Davids in Pembrokeshire for 5 nights.I just hopw we haven't pased our bugs on to them as they are planning on lots of long walks and bike rides . Gareth set the fire alarms off this morning when he was grilling bacon. I had just popped out to get some bread and came home tot find every window in the house wide open and all the doors!!
Big Bonfires and Chutney making at yours then Liz. I imagine the bonfire smelled lovely as I am sure the Chutneys do too :-D.. Just smells of burnt bacon here :-D :-D

It sounds as though this ceiling is quite a job Gill.No doubt you never thought it was going to be as difficult as this.
I hope you aren't going down with a cold too. It does seem as there are a lot of things going around at the moment.
Hopefully Ros's upset tummy is nothing to worry about Frank and that things have settled down again now. It could just be a combination of as you say new meds , but also she has been through quite an ordeal ,then you had all the visitors and no doubt lots of rich food.A few quiet days might not be a bad thing .

Mel you should go and see this Relative in Exeter as it is so close. I bet it could be quite interesting .Are the photos she has of your ancestors ones that you also have ,or new ones to you?

I caught up with Strictly this afternoon.Wasn't it a LONG programme !!!!. I thought most of the dancers were great for their first attempts but felt sorry for that lady Suzanna? (of trinny and suzanna). That blooming judge Craig Revil wotsit was vile and so mean. I know she was not great but it was her first dance but he was just so bloo** rude :-S

Last of the Bodyguard tonight :-D :-D. I shall watch that and then see Vanity Fair tomorrow.

I have a Chicken Joint , Rosemary Potatoes and Veg this evening. But I ate a fait bit of (yesterdays dinner) at lunchtime so am not hungry. So I shall leave it to the men. I may have some cereal later.

Liz we are impressed with the sound bar but with everyone that has been handling it it is covered in fingerprints !! Job for tomorrow :-)
I think I will sign off now for tonight so hope everyone sleeps well tonight. I have a feeling it will be a competion of coughing between the 3 of us. I am taking myself back off to Hannahs bed :-D

Frank Report 24 Sep 2018 10:46

Good morning to you all,

Ros has just driven to the Drs for her blood test. That has to be sent to Kettering G.H.

Have stripped the bed this morning, sheets and pillow cases all done with the other whites. I'm not allowed to hang them out (I DO IT WRONG) The colours are in the W/M now so they should be done soon, and can go out.

I just noticed that your house has to be AVOIDED at all costs Jane. I do hope you three feel better soon.

Tonight I will do COLD loin of pork, with roasted Mediterranean vegetables , roasted baby potatoes with garlic and herbs. Will make a nice change. Not that I don't have enough to do.

What a beautiful morning to get the washing all dried. I expect she will want to sit and iron it all this afternoon. I will TRY to make her let me do some. SOME HOPE !!!! But no harm in trying. ;-) ;-) ;-) I'll get the bed remade while she is out.

Will try to catch up with everything later post wise. See you later.

Morning Frank and all,

We have a lovely sunny day and oh is out on the mower as I type. The W/M is going here too Frank.

Heard from my cousin in Ohio this morning. Its not long now till she comes over here for a visit in October. Its a shame I can't go to Essex for the meet but she has my phone number so I can speak to her for the first time in many years. She informed me that one of my rellies died this morning, a great uncle and he was 93.

Hope your all feeling a little better today in your house Jane ,i should think you all kept each other awake with you all the coughing ,lets hope you haven't passed it on to Hannah and Gareth so they can enjoy their few days away .

Hope Ros got on ok at the doctors for her blood test ,it must have been nice for her to have a little trip out .

How is the ceiling going Gill ? is OH still scraping away .

Grotty day here with chesty coughs and snotty noses :-S Nothing has been done here today other than one load of washing.I have spent most of the afternoon on the settee nodding off and trying to watch Killing Eve.I missed most of it so will have to start again with that programe. It is just a very unhealthy house here right now :-S

What a beautiful day it has been .Lovely sunshine showing up my filthy windows :-S
Neither of us have any oomph to do anything today .
I shall be dishing up dinner soon and then will be off to bed .

Good morning all,

Another lovely morning here with plenty of the yellow stuff.

Hope Jane and Co are all feeling better this morning. These late summer colds are hard to get rid of sometimes. Keep taking the tablets Jane. :-S

This Tuesday seems to have come around very quickly to me. It only seems a day or so since I last went yet its two weeks since I went to Lidl.

Still no hogs............................................ :-(

Gillx Report 25 Sep 2018 09:33

Morning all

Sunny here today but quite cold with it.

Sorry to hear you're still unwell Jane hope you feel better soon. It looks like a pigeon has flown into our kitchen window, there is a bird shape on it so that'll need cleaning now.

How is Ros this morning Frank, how did she get on with her blood test, have they said how long it'll be till she gets her results?

Sorry to hear about your uncle Mel, 93 was a good age. It'll be nice to speak with your cousin when she's over in October....not long to wait now.

I've not done anymore in our garden Mandy, everything seems to be done now, although the grass could do with another cut. With it being dry all this week I'm sure OH will cut it before the weekend.

I've not been very well these past few days with this earache and now I've got a bit of a sore throat, I think that is because of all the dust from the bathroom ceiling though. OH isn't going to carry on scraping the paint off, he said it would take him forever, so it's going to be filled and painted instead.

Going to have a lie down now I'm feeling a bit dizzy with my sore ear, hope it's not another infection. It was my aunts funeral yesterday, but I was to ill to go :-(

Mel Fairy Godmother Report 25 Sep 2018 10:52

Sorry your not feeling well Gill. Have a good rest and a sleep and maybe you will feel better. Lemon and honey hot drink is what you need or maybe some of that day nurse stuff.

Frank Report 25 Sep 2018 11:11

Good morning Mel, Gill and all.

Another lovely day in paradise.

Patient doing as she is told, and resting. She has knitted 30 poppies so far, and in between those, she is knitting Sally's jumper.

Washing all ironed and put away. While waiting for my Tesco delivery last night . I made a Chicken casserole for today, did the potato's and prepared a Rice Pudding. Better than sitting watching the SOAPS.

The flowers I bought for Ros. died over the weekend, I have sent a letter of complaint , now waiting for a reply.

So things are no better for you Jane. I take it James is not at work. ??

Nice that your relative is visiting the U.K. Mel, I am sure you will enjoy chatting to her when she phones. Not a bad innings for h 93 year old. Was it just old age or sickness ??

I don't blame your OH giving up on that ceiling Gill. Couldn't he just paper it, and give it a coat of paint.??

Thank goodness Barry is coming tomorrow, there are so many jobs that need doing. I can see it costing me a bomb tomorrow. Glad you we're able to get some jobs done Mandy. With the darker evenings coming, you won' t have many more afternoons to be out there.

It's LEWIS'S 20th Birthday today. We managed to catch him this morning before he set off for UNI.

I have been searching the web for a rear door for Valerie's car. It its beyond repair, and a new one will cost an arm and a leg.

Shower now, then hoovering and dusting.

Gillx Report 25 Sep 2018 11:46

Thanks Mel, I had a bit of a sleep but the earache woke me up. I've taken a Beechams which seems to have dulled the pain, if it doesn't improve soon I'll take myself off to the doctors.
I don't feel as dizzy today so that's a good sign.

<3 <3 <3 HAPPY BIRTHDAY TO LEWIS <3 <3 <3 Hope he has a good day.

When did you buy the flowers Frank? By the sounds of it, it wasn't that long ago. Nice to hear Ros is taking it easy that must be less of a worry for you. I see you got your food order right this time and you've kept yourself busy cooking. Don't over do things though, there's always tomorrow. Hope it doesn't cost you to much to have your garden sorted out. I wish I lived closer OH and I would of come around and helped you.

Yes, the bathroom ceiling turned out to be a lot bigger job than OH first thought it would be and if he'd of carried on I think the whole ceiling would of needed plastering. The filler went on yesterday, just a few places that needed smoothing over and the sanding is being done today, hopefully the ceiling will be good enough to paint then. Because it's a bathroom it couldn't be papered as the steam would of took the paper off. Thankfully it's a small room so shouldn't take to much longer to finish. Then of course we still have the draw fronts to put on in the kitchen. We've been so busy with other things this year, mainly the front garden we haven't had the time to get on with that job. I'd like all the little jobs out of the way before the winter sets in.

It's 3 months today to CHRISTMAS DAY I really need to think about buying some more presents, I normally buy them throughout the year but haven't bought as many as I normally do by now, so will have to get out there, otherwise I'm going to have a big bill come Christmas time. I have started buying a few bits and bobs in the way of food. Morrisons had a deal on tins of chocolates, 2 for £10 so I bought those the other week (Quality Street and Roses) and Tesco's had an offer on after eight mints, I've also bought one or two other things that are now in a box ready for the big day.

Going to get a cuppa now, my throat is really dry.

Frank

Frank Report 25 Sep 2018 12:25

FIRST BARNY OF THE DAY. Where do you think she Is now. Sitting on her stool in the greenhouse chopping down the tomato plants. I GIVE UP.

I picked a bowlful yesterday together with a big armful of RUNNERS and of course I ordered both from Tesco. I will have o give some away.

Val next door lost the use of her legs yesterday I will ring Tony to see how things are. Ros wants to offer o do their washing, I said he can put the machine on himself. We have enough to do without doing his.

Gillx

Gillx Report 25 Sep 2018 15:47

Oh dear Frank, at least Ros is sitting down, although that's not the point is it? Poor Val I hope she has the use of her legs back now, did Tony say why it happened? You're right you have enough to do so Tony will have to do his own washing.....the lazy so and so.

Going to have a bath now, there was dust everywhere so I've just hoovered and polished the whole bungalow, it's nice and clean again now, although there's more sanding to do but only a bit so hopefully I won't need to polish so much next time. You could write your name in the dust, it was that bad. I've also washed the mark the bird left on my kitchen window this morning, I think it was a pigeon that flew into the window. We have big windows so it happens all the time.

Frank

Frank Report 25 Sep 2018 17:41

What am I like, Val called round this afternoon to s how Ros was. I had packed for her Runners, tomato's and a bag of satsuma's. While she was here, I asked what she was having for dinner tonight. When she said she hadn't got anything ready, I invited her round for dinner. So the table is laid for three. I have peeled another potato, so there will be plenty to go round. That will teach me to keep my mouth shut. ;-) ;-) ;-) ;-)

Another lovely day today, turning a bit chilly now, but we can expect that now.

Jane

Jane Report 25 Sep 2018 17:49

Afternoon Everyone

Happy Birthday to Lewis . I am sure he will be celebrating well :-D :-D

I reckon Ros is fine now to do a bit more now Frank, and sitting on her stool doing the tomatoes would not have been too taxing. As for taking in Tony's washing!! well if he has a machine he should be quite capable of doing his own. I hope Val is ok. Have you heard any more?
It has been a cracking day with wall to wall sunshine.Tomorrow looks the same I think.
I am still barking (in the cough sense :-D) but not quite as bad as yesterday. I have a hospital appointment tomorrow morning with the Rheumatologist so I dont want to be coughing all over the place at the hospital .James has had his now for a good couple of weeks.Chris doesnt seem to have got the cough(yet) just a runny nose and congestion. Mandy you should hear James and Me at night LOL.The coughing seems to start around 3-4am

Gill i hope your throat and ear clear up. It is quite likely to be all that dust from the ceiling so hopefully you won't need to see the Dr.UNless of course it is an ear infecton that you have again. Fingers crossed it s not.

Well Hannah and Gareth seems to have had a wonderful day today . They have seen Seal and Pups and even a Porpoise !!. I think they have walked miles and miles. She sent me a pic of a pint of beer and and a glass of wine plus a bottle of Radox :-D So she must have bought that somewhere today and will be having a good soak in the bath tonight to ease aching muscles. I think I heard Gareth say the other day that they would be doing a 50kilometre walk!!!! That is some serious footwork .

I have a Turkey Breast cooking now .One of those in the tin foil dish It is beginning to smell nice.
Gill, Tesco here have been selling those tins of chocs for ages now .They are in huge piles just as you go in the store.I have held back so far from buying any.But am tempted. The thing is I am not sure what is happening at Xmas. H&G will be on their Honeymoon and I dont know if James and Jess will be here or at her family. To be quite honest I would be quite happy for it to just be us 2 old foggies. I have said I will do a late Xmas dinner after the Honeymoon .So I will not start buying chocs and things just yet.

Liz I think it must be time for your trip :-D It has to be anyday now :-D
