Morning all,

Dull and dreary after yesterdays beautiful day and the skies are grey..............there's one good thing though and that is that there is no wind.

I have had an answerto my email from my cousin in Ohio who is supposed to be coming over here in October. She has had to cancel the trip as she has a wedge fracture in her back and there's no way she could make the trip now. She is so disappointed as there was a lot planned this end with other rellies and friends. It must be so flattening for her and with being in so much pain only making it worse.

Morning all

Overcast and cold here today.

I banged my head the other day so haven't been feeling to good, had a bad headache so thought it best to keep away from the computer screen. I feel much better today though.

Sorry to hear about your cousin having to cancel her trip Mel, how did she hurt her back? I've never heard of a wedge fracture before.

How is Val today Frank, at least she got to see a doctor in the end so that's good. Did Ros enjoy her little trip to the shops, it's sounds like she's on the mend now. Did you go the pub in the end to watch your West Ham match, did they win?

How are you feeling today Jane, it's horrible when virus's linger. Hope it's starting to clear for you now.

The bathroom ceiling is almost finished, just a bit more painting which OH will do today, then it's over to me to clear away yet more dust. Looking forward to the F1 this evening. It was nice to see Botas on poll position for a change, I wonder how he'll do in the race.

Frank Report 30 Sep 2018 11:35

Good morning Mel and all.

That's a pity, your cousin not coming over next month. a lot of disappointed relatives and plans they have made.

After the match yesterday. Ros picked me up, we had rolls and salad for lunch, then I went for a lay down.I didn't draw the curtains, so the sun was full blast into the mirror door on the walledrobe , reflexing back into my face, so no chance of any zzz. lol

I go up showered and changed, sat and watched a bit of tele., and went to the party about 8.00 pm. Good crowd of old faces, a lot that I didn't recognise . We were home by 10.30 and I was in bed soon after. I had a bit of indigestion which turned in to full BLOWN Tummy upset. So my nights sleep was firmly distroyed. I gave up and came into the lounge. It didn't disturb Ros and I was close to the loo.

I've only had a COT this morning, and feel as weak as a KITTEN. Will certainly not be having an early lunch today

Back to the paper, and the comfort of my armchair.

No sunshine here today.

O dear poor Frank. Do you think it was something you ate that upset you? Keep warm today and have a nice read and rest in your chair. West Ham won yesterday did'nt they? Good old Hammers.

Sorry to hear you're not very well Frank, it sounds like something you ate last night. Rest up and look after yourself.

It sounds like it's cold all over the country, we have the fire on here. It's started raining now so we're staying in today and keeping warm.

Sent Mel.

Frank i hope you soon feel better ,was it some thing you ate at the party that's upset your tummy ?

Gill it's horrid when you bang your head ,it can make you feel quite faint ,i hope the head ache is better and you haven't got a big bump from the knock .

Jane can’t get onto Gene's at the moment as her laptop is backing up and won’t be ready for her to use for a few hours .

It feels quite cold out there now ,i think we might light the woodburner .

We have the heating on, so Ros has washed a few coloureds and put them on he radiators to dry. They can then go away

With me feeling below par. She has done the veg. for dinner tonight. I have made he yorkshire pudding and cheese sauce. Nice shoulder of English Lamb.

Carolyn has rung to say she will pop round to see Ros. his afternoon. Considering she has been home since MONDAY sh's not rushing around is she ??? Who she was ill earlier in the year Ros stayed with her all day and went with her in the Ambulance and stayed with her until she was seen in A & E, and then rang John to pick her up, this is going on for midnight So Ros isn't very pleased with her !!! :-P :-P

The white car parked outside yesterday, was nothing to do with the Nurse or Doctor, just someone visiting and leaving their car outside our bungalow. Bl@@dy cheek !! Oh and there was another car parked in the turning point outside pam's. Another visitor somewhere down the close. I've put notices on a car of some bloke, parking his car outside my bungalow while he went to see HIS BIT ON THE SIDE round he corner. I told him "THIS IS NOT A PARKING AREA." please park where you are visiting. IT SOON STOPPED.

Not a nice end to Sept. I's cold and miserable, A BIT LIKE ME TODAY.

STAY LUCKY xxxx

gOT IT mANDY THANKS AND YEW THAT WAS THE ONE. Sorry about that but I can't be bothered to type it again as I am trying to get on with something I am making and I have to cut oh's hair this afternoon. I have made a mistake and did't put the catch on the front of this little neck purse before I sewed all the beads around the edge!!!! Silly old fool.

Afternoon All

Thanks Mandy for finding that pic :-D :-D. Goodness I can't believe that was 8 years ago now. I was just a young slip of a thing then :-D :-D ;-).I didn't even wear glasses .Things have gone downhill since then :-S

Frank you did have a rough night last night. These upset tums you have at night must have something to do with what you have eaten for dinner.
So the chap got a snotty note on his car then for parking outside your bungalow .How do you know he is visiting his bit on the side? :-D ;-)

Ooh Gill what did you bang your head on? It must have been quite a bump. Hope it is not too sore now. If I had done that Chris would have said I was knocking some sense into myself !!

I have been coughing all day again. I just can't seem to shift what needs to clear. My nose has been more runny so I think that might actually be a good thing. I was going ot go over to Rushden Lakes this morning but decided against it. So I got a Beef dish going in the Slow Cooker.I had cut up the Beef and Veg yesterday so it didn't take me long to get it all done and in the pot . I just need to do a pan of rice later

I have done a few of the inside of the windows today as I think we are due for the window cleaner in the next couple of days and the insides were so bad. There are still loads more I need to do .All the white surrounds need doing too. I think they have become so filthy with having the windows open all summer and all the dust and dirt coming in. Thats my excuse anyway :-D
Janice sent me a pic of her knee/leg. I won't share it as I don't think she would appreciate me doing that but it looks like a whole leg of Lamb :-( :-S. The wound has healed up lovely but the swelling is still horrendous :-S :-S

So October tomorrow :-0 :-0. It doesn't seem possible .It has been a lot cooler today and no sun to speak of.. Looking out now it seems the wind might be picking up a bit.

Mel how disappointing for your Cousin Hilary to have to cancel her trip to the UK. She must be gutted and especially with so many things planned . I hope her back heals well and that she may be able to plan another trip.

I need to clear up a half eaten mouse on the patio. Unusual for Thomas to leave half.Maybe it wasn't tasty enough. He needs to learn to clear his leftovers away. Off to get a bag and bottle of Dettol . (it looks a bit bloody)

:-S

I banged my head on a large 2 foot thick sand stone Jane. I was decorating our neighbours daughter's bedroom while she's away and her window is about 4 foot off the floor, I had put things on the window sill and when I went to get something I stood up and cracked my head really hard, it made me feel sick and dizzy and I felt like that for two days. If it hadn't of started feeling better I would of gone to A&E to have it checked out, but thankfully the dizziness has stopped and I just have a little headache now, although I think that is because of the paint OH is using to paint the bathroom ceiling, that is finished now so hopefully tomorrow I'll be back to normal. It didn't knock any sense into me though as I banged my head on the same stone more than once, luckily it was only once that really hurt. I thought the window was really cute and wished I had windows like that.....not anymore though. She lives in a little Sandstone cottage that was built in 1782, so the walls are about 2 foot thick and boy does it hurt if you bang your head on it. I did have a lump but thankfully that's gone down now.

Sorry to hear you're still feeling unwell Jane. Have you tried putting some Vic on the soles of your feet it works and will help with your breathing, which might help you clear your chest when coughing. Not a nice job having to get rid of the remains of the mouse.

How are you feeling now Frank? I thought Carolyn would of visited earlier if she's been back since Monday, it must of been very disappointing for poor Ros especially after her looking after Carolyn when she needed it. How is Ros today? If she's doing some washing she must be starting to feel more herself now.

Yes, I was wondering how you knew the fella was visiting his BIT ON THE SIDE, have you been curtain twitching Frank LOL ;-) ;-) Cheeky to park outside your bungalow though, good on you for leaving a note. I'd love to have seen his face when he read it, he probably thought he was being clever parking away from the place he was visiting, no wonder he never parked there again if his visits was suppose to be a secret. He wouldn't want that cat being let out of the bag.

Morning all,

Pinch and a punch and another month gone. The older I get the quicker time passes.

Bright morning here with sun and blue sky with white clouds.

I have had another request to view my tree but for the life of me I can't find the persons parents on the census. I have info on him but can't find his marriage with either his wifes name or his. I can't even find him on the census.

Gillx Report 1 Oct 2018 12:44

Afternoon all

Sunny here but not very warm.

Sorry to hear you've lost a long post Frank. I was typing an email yesterday and my screen went blank, I had to force the laptop to close then open it again, luckily the email was still there, but it's annoying when something like that happens isn't it? Hope you manage to post again later.

I got a letter in the junk mail today and it was about having your repeat prescriptions sorted and delivered to your door for free. I thought you might be interested Frank. It's called Pharmacy2U, I don't know if your surgery uses this but it might be worth looking into, it would save you or Ros having to go out in the cold winter months to collect your meds. You can register online at www.pharmacy2u.co.uk and there's a phone number 0113 265 0222 not sure if this number is nationwide or for my area, but I'm sure if you did ring them they would explain everything to you and if necessary give you a phone number that's local to you. You might need to see if your surgery use the NHS electronic prescription service first though. They even have a free reminder service, they do everything for you and it sounds really good. I saw online that we might be in for a few months of snow again this year so it would save Ros having to drive in the bad weather. It's just a thought, but it might be useful to know if you do need something like that.

That's odd that you can't find any information on the person who's contacted you Mel. Have you tried asking him, the surname may of been mis-spelt which would explain why you can't find him? Although I'd of thought you'd of found some information, especially the marriage.....very strange. Good luck, I hope you find what you're looking for soon. :-)

I've just been looking at my borders in the back garden and have decided to see if I can find a few more Sedums, they are looking lovely and I have some spaces that need filling so they'd look great there. The new border down the bottom has no colour in it at all, so they'd look smashing down there too. I just need to know when to stop buying plants though as I'm sure I'll come back with other things to, I'm like a child in a sweet shop where plants are concerned.

Must remember my umbrella, we've had a few sharp showers of rain, don't fancy getting wet. See you all later <3

Mel Fairy Godmother

Mel Fairy Godmother Report 1 Oct 2018 15:54

Gill Sedums are so easy to grow from a leaf or split the plants up. YOu really don't need to buy more. Get yourself some Heucheras they are everygreen and come in many colours.

Going to clean the loo now.

Gillx

Gillx Report 1 Oct 2018 19:45

I tried to grow a Sedum from a leaf Mel but it didn't work, maybe I did something wrong. The Sedum's I already have are to small to split just yet. I only bought them a few months ago.
How did you get on with your family tree?

I didn't go out in the end as the heavens opened with a massive downpour of rain and I didn't think the umbrella would be of any use. It was bouncing down so I stayed here instead.

It's been very quiet on here today.
