Just to say welcome back to the thread Ann, but, in the interests of you not scuttling off again, there's no need as I won't be posting anymore. Tbh and with respect, for me the thread has got far too cliquey which just isn't my thing even in R.L, so I might as well go now, sooner than cause an issue, as I wouldn't have been renewing my sub anyway. Hope all goes well for ALL of you and goodbye.

I just looked at the last page of POSTS. Why has Liz decided to quit the thread. ?? I used o enjoy her input and have done so in th past.
Ros has gone off to theGsrden Centre with Jan, Kerry and Alexander. He hates shopping, but there is a BALL CENTRE for children. So he will be alright there.
As you can imagine, I haven't been able to do anything outside, not that I wanted too. I have just sat reading the paper.Nothing but doom and gloom in that anyway. Murders, rape of a ten week old child. (Let me have him for TEN MINUTES) H would never do that again.
I se h Rugby is on Tele this afternoon. SAINTS v LEICESTER Even though I am not a Rugby fan, I might watch a bit as I am on my own.

WE had toast this morning so niether of us needed lunch but oh said what about sausage rolls. I made them from scratch as it would have taken 2 hours for the pastry to thaw out.
I made 22 sausage rolls and a sausage and ham and stuffing pie for tomorow nights tea. Now I have lost all my afternoon for doing any craft but oh came out and said that without a doubt my pastry was a thousand times better than the stuff I usually buy for them.
He has just come out and pinched another one!!

Afternoon All on this wet and miserable Saturday .Can't really moan though as we need a bit of rain even though it hasn't really been enough to make much difference to the ground. It will still be as hard as rock.
Liz, I hope you enjoyed your trip to Austria and that it was a lovely wedding. I am sorry you feel the thread has become too cliquey . I have to say I don't really get that. I do remember you saying that you probably wouldn't be renewing your membership some time ago. I hope all remains well for Ian and that his check up in I think December is all good.
So Sausage Rolls all from scratch Mel. You realise now that you will have do this everytime now if OH says they are the best by far That pie sounds good.
Frank, the news is always so depressing these days. I hadn't seen that about that poor little baby .Have they jailed the evil monster for life? Which Garden Centre has Ros and the girls gone to? Is it Beckworth Emporium?
That will be nice to have a big family get together for your 80th and then a trip down to Devon for the Xmas. Where are you going for your meal tomorrow?
I have spent ages this afternoon on the Cooker. I have a man coming on Wednesday to have a look at the Halogen Ring. My gawd the muck and grease underneath and behind was disgusting and down the sides of the cooker .Then I noticed that a tile at the back had fallen off the wall . It is just a narrow strip of tile but you can notice it . So Chris will have to get some tile sticker. Then I was looking at earrings on line.Janice had found a site and said she had seen a lovely pair that would go with the dress for the wedding .So I have ordered them now . They come from America so will be a couple of weeks or so.
I can actually see a few bits of blue sky !!! So it looks like all the nasty weather has passed through now.
Oh Ann, I hope a home is found for the puss. I could not bare to move abroad and leave my pets behind . I shall be putting up a note in the Kitchen on Tuesday to remind me not to have anything other than water before my blood test. I had a letter this morning with an appointment for Nov 2nd to have this horrible cyst removed on my finger. That was pretty swift . At least it will be done and all healed before the wedding.I am so conscious of it as i feel it looks unsightly .
Strictly Come Dancing will be on soon. I will pop our dinner in shortly . M&S Gastropub Mousakka , so not much for me to do other than the veg.

Snap Mel. OH went off to 2 footie matches in Warwick and I thought oh a nice craft afternoon for me. Then I looked in the fridge and saw the use by dates on salmon and lamb mince (just had to edit the mince as I'd put 'mice' lol........Thomas's kind of fridge!) so I was cooking instead. It's nice your OH appreciates your home made pastry and it sounds like the sausage rolls won't last long.
You are right about the news Frank, OH looked at the local paper this morning and said the city is becoming 'lawless'. There seem to be stabbings every day, no respect for the Police, with a criminal driving a car at and seriously injuring one officer now.
He's just come out of the en suite and said 'it looks like a branch of Boots or Superdrug in there.' It's all my medications and gel. lol. It's overflowing from the cabinet onto the shelf now. I'm going to look in Tofs Factory Shop when we go out tomorrow to see if they have a nice box I can pop things in to tidy it up a bit.
Mandy I missed seeing the sandal somehow. It sounds as if Sandra had a whale of a time seeing the Giants! I will be interested to hear how your BIL does with his knee operation. I hope it goes well for him and that's great that Colin's sister may be able to go home soon. Her knowing that will give her a much needed boost. Yes, I was a little bit tempted by the Puss.
I'm going to do some stud earrings now. I got some round, half drilled stones in different colours to do them with and some GORILLA glue!! I can't think why I have never done any before as I like to wear them, but I don't think I realised you could buy the half drilled stones. I must be careful with that glue though and that reminds me............the front doorbell was on the ground this morning.

Sandra's just got excited at the flamingo's on Strictly....bless her. She's still going on about yesterday and today OH's friend printed off a really good picture he found on the Internet of the Giant for her to keep and also gave her his newspaper with a 4 page spread on the event, which will make a lovely keepsake for her.
Sandra also had another surprise when we returned home. A surprise parcel of card making items off a lovely lady on another thread, so she spent a few hours yesterday making some cards. She had a great day and has looked through all the photo's and videos she took today. All in all a very happy girl
I'm still feeling tired and now have a banging headache so I'll catch up with the posts tomorrow.

Evening all,
What a dreary old day, it's been quite windy and we've had a nasty drizzle on and off all day ,it has tried to brighten a little at times but there was to much cloud for us to see any sun .
I hope you enjoyed your holiday Liz and i'm sorry you feel that way about the thread .
It sounds like Sandra really enjoyed the Giants Gill ,she will have fun looking at the photos and videos she did ,i'm glad her batteries lasted the day.
Oh Sausage rolls ,i won't read that out to Colin Mel or he will want me to make some DIL made some a few weeks ago went we went to see them and Colin had three !! they were lovely as they were just out of the oven.
So your on to ear rings now for the wedding Jane ,do you like stud type or are you going for some that dangle ? you could have got Ann to make you some . Did you find another little jacket / shrug ?
Ann Colin likes that Gorilla glue ,the one he has dries quite orangy brown though but we saw an add for a clear one so that's on this weeks shopping list ,they also do the super glue Gorilla glue which i have visions of him gluing his fingers together.

Oh yes Ann That Mice Mince would be right up Thomas's street .
I didn't see the Giant Sandal either. But Sandra sounds like she had the best day .Taking pics and videoing . That will have been a specal day for her Gill and something she will remember for ever.
I have a cupboard in the kitchen wth all meds in Ann.We had a good sort out the other day and tidied things up. It seems to be all mine . Gone are the days now when it was just a few paracetamol . Gorilla glue sounds scary !!! Is it like super glue? I think you could make some beautiful stud earrings. I never seem to wear studs although I have a couple of really nice pairs. Strictly is calling me

The stud earings sound good Ann. We'd love to see a pic of them when they are done. I used to like to wear studs but I think my holes in my ears have closed up now and I can't find my piecers I had when I first had them done.
I had trouble with my ears and could only wear gold or silver but someone told me to put the bit that goes though your ear in Vasaline and that would stop them itching. It sis work too.
Mice mince!!!!! I had to laugh at that. So you were cooking too this afternoon Ann. The sausage rolls will last till tomorrow tea time and then on Monday for his breakfast I think.

Good Morning sleepy heads. xxx
My body clock is all over the place, after the other night. Last night I was in bed by 9.00 pm slept until 4.30 am. Laid thinking until 7.00 and got up. I am on my 3rd COT.
Jane the girls went to Wyevale Garden Centre. Kerry just dropped Ros of when they got home as it was hissing with rain.
We are going to the Greyhound at Milton Malsor for lunch. I have amended the booking for 1.15 instead of 2.30. Kerry and Alexander aren't coming do I have reduced the number also. As yet I haven't had confirmation, so will ring them at 12.00 to confirm everything is O.K.
It looks like a family get to gather for my 80th. We will go to our favourite Chinese. There will be Harvey,Julia, Lewis, Conrad and Jan, Simon and Sally, Ros and I. As soon as I can get the family to agree a date I will get it booked, as it's bound to be busy around that time.
So you are almost there with your outfit Jane. There's not much more you need is there ??
Ann, I see you and Ros have the same hobbit. She is forever buying more gems from her Jewellery programme. She is making earrings, bracelets for xmas presents, for Julia and Tracy (next door) I think a bracelet for Valerie, and of course more things for herself !!!!
I remember the first Christmas I moved in with Ros, I made Sausage rolls and mince pies. I had a day off and she was working, so I got dug in, If I remember right they all got eaten. I must admit there is something about HOME MADE.
Much better morning today. I am hoping for a bit of sunshine, we will see.
The poppies look nice on all the road signs that I have seen. I hope people leave them alone.,and just enjoy seeing them.
Off for another COT and toast.

Morning Frank and all,
We have sunshine Frank so whats it like with you now? Our sky is a bit grey out the front but the suns out the back.
I have decided not to do anything today except the big breakfast and see if I can get some craft done this afternoon. I have the chickens to do this morning and feed the wild birds.
I was out in the garden on the patio last night with oh and I thought I saw a hog around the bottom of the bird feeder. Oh said it was probably a rat. I don't have the old outside light on anymore since he put the new ones up but they go down the garden and up the orchard and the bird feeder is the other side of the big box hedge so not much light that way only from the kitchen windows. If it was then it shoudl be back tonight so I will put a few cat biscuits down around the feeder and turn the old front light on and keep my eye out.
I feel very alone without the hogs about. Is that weird or what?

Morning all
We had a bit of frost this morning, the sun is out now so it's all gone but it's not very warm. All our windows had condensation on them so they've been wiped down, it cleaned them to which is good and has saved me a job later.
It sounds like you're going to have a brilliant birthday Frank with lots of family around to enjoy the day with you. You're probably right it will be busy that time of year so better to book it sooner rather than later. Enjoy you meal today, hope the weather is drier than yesterday for you. How is Ros today? Sorry to hear of yet another infection, hope she's on the mend now.
No, it's not weird to feel like that about the hogs Mel, you have fed them for such a long time you're bound to miss them when they're not around so much. Hope it was a hog not a rat and you see it again. What crafts are you making now? I see your sausage rolls went down well with your OH, how many did he leave for you? He sounds like my OH where sausage rolls are involved you have to be quick to get some yourself LOL.
Yes, we all enjoyed the day Jane, although OH ended up on the other side of the road so I had to shout over to him to keep up with the Giant and Sandra and I would see him at the end as the police wouldn't let us cross back over. We ended up on the other side of the road because we recorded the Giant coming down the road, there were a lot of vehicles behind it and they had tape attached to them so no one could cross the road in between the vans. It took us over half an hour to find each other when the Giant stopped for a sleep, but it was a great day and although there was a bit of fine rain we didn't really notice it. Definitely a day for us all to remember.
So you're almost there with the wedding outfit Jane? What are the earrings like? Is that everything now or do you still have other things to buy? it's getting very close now, everyone must be so excited for the big day. Pleased to see you have your appointment for your cyst, like you said it'll all be done before the wedding and now you won't be worried about it.
That Gorilla brand is very good Ann, I got some duck tape and it was that good it almost took my finger prints off are you going to try it on your doorbell? I'd love to see some pics of the jewellery you're making when it's all finished.
I'm feeling much better so far today and not so tired, mind you that might have something to do with the F1, I recorded it as it was on early and we're watching it now. It's so exciting with all sorts happening, so I think my adrenalin is pumping so much there's no chance of me being tired at the moment.

Have just got showered and having a rest before shaving.
Sun is trying to break through, I haven't been outside so don't know if it's cold.
Harvey just rang from FRANCE. He and his BIL went out by train on Friday to clean and put away all the holiday equipment, that has been left out all summer. They will catch the train home tomorrow.
Haven't tried that Gorilla product, but by the sound of it, it's good stuff.
Enjoy your big Breakfast Mel. I know I am starting to get peckish as I didn't have any toast earlier.
Still not had confirmation regarding change of lunch time meal booking.
Sounds like an exciting F 1. don't get a blood rush Gill, and end up TIRED OUT again. lol lol
Our hog/s are around somewhere, as we are getting their visiting cards left on the drive and patio. Which reminds me, I need to get more food. When do they hibernate Mel ??
I belong to a site for x Woodford Bridgers. One chap who knows me, still lives there and asks when I am going back to visit. My Niece Susan, and now Garry are talking about coming up and taking us down to visit. I'm not holding my breath
Feel rested enough to stand and shave, then I will get dressed and be ready to go out later.

O Frank that woud be lovely to see Woodford Bridge again. Mums brother and his wife live there. I hav'nt heard from Roy since mum died and I have sent Christmas cards but never get one back.
Just going to make myself a coffee.
Gill I don't know what I am going to make at the moment. I did find a couple of mistletoe leaves I cut out in felt and did'nt do anything with so I may make a brooch with one of those on and put some pearls on for berries. I just have to decide what colour backing to use to show it off well and I was thinking of cream but I don't think I have any cream left.

That would be nice Frank if you could visit, I'll keep my fingers crossed it happens for you.
Well, that was a brilliant F1 race, I'm still wide awake Frank I wonder how long it'll last for though. Poor OH hasn't slept very well for the last two nights so after lunch he's going back to bed for a while. He was trying not to fall asleep during the race. He's got a bit of a cough and last night got cramp so now he's shattered. He was going to sleep on the sofa but I said he'd probably sleep better in bed.
I think cream is a good colour to use Mel, hope you have some left over. I'd love to see a pic when you've finished them. Are all these craft things you're making for the Christmas Fair you told us about?
I've just received some photo's and videos of the Giants off a kind lady we met at New Brighton, she noticed Sandra's batteries were running low and took my email address to send them through. She went to Liverpool to so there's a couple of video's of the little boy and his dog. There was another one of the Giant we saw in New Brighton but the video only last a couple of seconds. Wasn't it nice of her to send them? Sandra got all excited again when she watched them....bless her.

Afternoon Everyone Frank is it Lee Gardens you are going to for your Birthday Celebrations? I know you have been there before when you have had a big get together. Fitz often goes there for a buffet lunch.
That was nice of the lady to send you the video even if very short and pics Gill. Plenty of memories for Sandra . I hope OH's cough doesn't develop into anything nasty.Mine is gradually easing with the help of the antibiotics. Still very irritating though when it starts up.
I have made a Normandy Pork casserole for dinner. It smells lovely. I haven't made this for a long time. Now I am going to sit and watch a bit of TV as I feel really weary. I have been awake on and off since 4am . I may well nod off.
Mel I hope you have found the right felt for your latest bit of work . That sounds a perfect thing to be doing this Sunday afternoon .
Mandy did you say when your BIL has his knee op? I don't know if I missed a date.I hope to heavens it goes well for him. Brrr its feeling a bit chilly now . The heating will be on soon
I still have a jacket/cape/wrap to decide on and then I think I will be sorted.

Evening All,
I like the poppies too Frank and some on a gate near the factory shop were left in place since last year and still look good. It sounds like you will have a good 'KNEES UP' for your 80th. I bet it will be good to see so many of the family gathered together. I see Ros is still enjoying doing her jewellery as well as all the other things she manages to do. I've come unstuck with mine as now I've managed to find some polystyrene to hold the backs of the earring posts in......I've managed to mislay the red beads I particularly wanted to do first, but I have done some blue gemstone ones. I'll take a pic and send it tomorrow although they are just simple plain ones. The GORILLA Glue I have a tiny tube of is the super glue and it says it sets in 10 seconds so you daren't get it on your fingers!! Gill I'm reluctant to use it on the doorbell as the front doorframe is UPVC and I might have trouble removing the doorbell when it eventually stops working. I might have some stronger double sided tape in the cupboard when I have another look . Wish I'd known to try vaseline years ago Mel as I used to have trouble with some earrings. I did try clear varnish, but it would scrape off with the backs being put on and off after a while.
I did get a couple of nice grey baskets with little carrying slots at Tofs today, so have tidied my boxes of wire into one and grouped the boxes of two types of bead into the other. They look much tidier on the book shelves...... OH thinks I should get some more. On the way there we saw someone had fly tipped the contents of a bathroom in one of the laybys. It can't be cheaper them closing the tips several days a week if they then have to clear up these messes.
This morning I caught him peering at himself in the mirror, pulling at the corner of his eye. I asked what he was doing and he told me now he goes around without needing any glasses on all the time he had noticed he has BAGS UNDER HIS EYES. He said he never realised before as he couldn't see them with his glasses on! LOL. Well I did laugh!! Mind you that means he can see my wrinkles as well!
I enjoyed Strictly last night and thought the standard seems incredibly high already this year.
